Day-by-Day Itinerary
Airport to Sigiriya
Arrive and drive north via Dambulla Golden Cave Temple (UNESCO). Evening Minneriya / Kaudulla / Hurulu Eco Park elephant safari. The famous 'Gathering' — 300+ elephants at the ancient tank (peak: Sep–Oct).
Sigiriya to Kandy
Pre-dawn Sigiriya Rock climb for spectacular sunrise photos. Breakfast. Drive to Kandy via Nalanda Gedige, Matale Spice Garden, Gem Museum and Hindu Temple. Kandy city tour. Evening Kandyan dance performance and Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic).
Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens — home to 4,000 plant species. Ramboda Falls scenic stop. Tea plantation and factory visit with complimentary cup of Ceylon tea. Nuwara Eliya city tour through the charming colonial hill station.
Nuwara Eliya to Ella
Gregory Lake and Victoria Park morning walk. Take the legendary 12:40 train through breathtaking mountain scenery to Ella. Visit Little Adam's Peak for panoramic valley views. Explore Ella village.
Ella to Tissamaharama
After breakfast drive towards the south. Visit Nine Arch Bridge — the iconic colonial-era viaduct. Rawana Waterfall stop. Buduruwagala Rock Temple (ancient 9th-century rock carvings). Evening 4×4 safari in Yala National Park — world-famous for wild leopards.
Tissamaharama to Mirissa
After breakfast drive to Mirissa beach on the south coast. En route: snake farm at Matara, Hummanaya Blowhole (the second largest in the world). Afternoon at Mirissa beach — one of Sri Lanka's most beautiful beaches.
Mirissa to Colombo / Negombo
Early 6:30 AM whale watching from Mirissa (blue whales & sperm whales, Nov–Apr). Drive to Galle — stilt fishermen at Koggala, Koggala sea turtle hatchery, Galle Dutch Fort (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Drop at Colombo or Negombo.
